Applied Behavior Analysis is a type of therapy based on the science of behavior. It is the single most effective treatment for children with autism, and the only one shown to make significant, long-lasting improvements. ABA therapy for children with autism focuses on increasing desired, socially significant behaviors and decreasing behaviors that can be dangerous or interfere with learning. At Heart to Heart, we incorporate ABA strategies and principles in a naturalistic, play-based format. We believe that children learn best when they are motivated and having fun.

There are many options for ABA therapy, including center-based services, in-school and community-based autism programs, and in-home services. In-home ABA therapy offers a unique opportunity for your child be as successful and independent as possible while ensuring positive relationships are encouraged with all family members. Our in-home programming is based on the scientific principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis, but it is not exclusive to one strategy within ABA. Each one of our home program teams is made up of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapists and/or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). The BCBA on the team supervises the custom home program that is unique to your child. BCBA’s are responsible for conducting detailed data-based assessments, overseeing the quality and direction of the ABA Therapy program. They analyze daily data collection and make decisions based on the data collected during the ABA Therapy sessions.

The BCBA collaborates with the parents and other caregivers and oversees the therapists in the home to make sure that all programs are effective, and goals are achieved. Research shows that when parents reinforce ABA interventions, children have improved social interactions and verbalizations. In other words, parental involvement is key to how a child develops social and behavioral skills.

It takes a village, which means we collaborate with everyone involved to promote consistency and communication for your child’s success. Your BCBA can work with your child’s School District personnel to ensure consistency. Each home has a tablet that contains the individual programs, data and graphs all selected by our BCBAs for your individual child’s needs. A secure parent portal allows you 24/7 access to your child’s progress. Our behaviorally trained ABA/RBT therapists on the team conduct the ABA therapy. Each ABA Therapist has completed at least 140 hours of training in Applied Behavior Analysis. Staff have also undergone an extensive criminal background check. Many of our ABA Therapists work in School Districts as trained ABA/RBT Aides in inclusive classrooms. Your child’s programs are custom designed with your family’s input, and personalized plans to guide your child to be the best he or she can be. We are on an ongoing quest to discover what makes your child tick and to tailor our vast curriculum to your child’s unique needs.

Our center-based ABA program is designed for children ages 2-5 years old. It allows your child to rapidly learn skills in a supportive, fun, and structured setting with their peers. Our BCBAs are present daily to supervise our ABA and RBT Therapists to implement highly effective therapy.

While at our ABA Therapy Center, your child will have access to a group of other kids, to help improve their play skills and sharing and give them the opportunity to learn through socializing. Being able to engage in meaningful play with activities that enrich their social interactions with other children, should ultimately help them to improve group and social skills. Our staff collect data daily on your child’s goals and make data-based decisions specific to each child’s treatment plan. We offer a 1:1 student-to-therapist ratio with full-day, half-day morning, or afternoon options.
